ParlaCLARIN V

Glad to share that our work was presented at the ParlaCLARIN V Workshop held during LREC 2026. The presentation, titled “Quantifying Code-Switching in a Ukrainian Parliamentary Dataset (1990–2021)” by Olha Kanishcheva and Maria Shvedova, explores patterns of code-switching in Ukrainian parliamentary discourse over three decades. The ParlaCLARIN V Workshop is dedicated to interoperability, multilinguality, and multimodality in Social Sciences and Humanities research, with a focus on socio-political data and corpora.
UNLP conference 2026

The 5th Ukrainian Natural Language Processing Conference (UNLP 2026) will take place on May 29–30, 2026, in Lviv, Ukraine, in a hybrid format — both online and in person. International cooperation – COST and DAAD projects

On November 23, 2025, we held a meeting as part of the CLARIN K-Center grant seminar series, dedicated to international collaboration through the COST and DAAD projects. The session was planned for an hour but lasted much longer — thanks to the active discussions and great questions from participants. It was an inspiring and productive exchange! A big thank-you to all speakers and attendees for making this event so engaging!
Digital Humanities Courses for Ukrainian Students

Starting in autumn 2025, a series of online courses in Digital Ukrainian Philology will be offered within the project "Digital Humanities: Ensuring Ukrainian University Teaching in Times of Crisis", coordinated by the University of Helsinki. The program includes: large language models for linguists, generative AI and prompt engineering, quantitative linguistics, corpus lexicography. Participation is free for BA, MA, and PhD students. Top-performing students will receive a €100 award and an ECTS certificate. Courses begin in September–October 2025. Application deadline: August 15, 2025. More details here.
Hackathon of Ukrainian Digital Humanities 2025

The Hackathon of Ukrainian Digital Humanities 2025 took place on June 18–20 in Jena, bringing together participants for team-based work and expert-led workshops. Topics included data visualization, corpus-based linguistic analysis, and phraseological research in Ukrainian. The event concluded with team presentations and an award ceremony.
